The amazon dolphin known as boto or Bufeo or Pink river dolphin are so common here, you’d be unlucky not to spot one. They come in all shades of pink, from a dull gray pink to rosy-colored pink, to a bright pink like that of the flamingo.

Kayaking through the Amazon Rainforest
Hear the sounds of the forest and explore the amazon through the Cuyabeno River. The Cuyabeno River is the road in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. Formed with water that drains from the towering Ecuadorian mountain range. In kayaks up to 2 people, you can watch the scenery and have the closest connection with the river. All it takes to kayak is the kayak itself, a paddle, and a lifejacket. During the easy-going paddling downstream, you might see toucans, hoatzins birds, monkeys, and other wildlife.
Hike to the Ceiba Giant Trees
Trees in the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest can be pretty impressive. A hike through the rainforests around Green Forest Ecolodge will take you past massive amazon trees that are 120 feet (40 meters) tall. There are plenty of trees that have grown near the Cuyabeno River and the wildlife reserve for hundreds of years. The incredible Ceiba is bound to be one of the largest trees you will ever see. The trails to the trees pass through beautiful, primary rainforest and you may very well see monkeys, birds, and other animals on the way.
