Ayahuasca in Cuyabeno?
The consumption of ayahuasca generates hallucinogenic effects due to the presence of natural DMT from plants such as Psychotria viridis, Diplopterys cabrerana and others. This substance must be administered with a deep understanding and it is not suitable for everyone. It can cause severe (even irreversible) psychotic symptoms in people with a history of mental problems, such as schizophrenia or bipolarity, and is incompatible with taking medications such as antidepressants. There are even those who have died, it seems, because of these bad practices, since it has not been determined that ayahuasca has dangerous levels of toxicity for the human body.
Ayahuasca or yage is an indigenous drink used in traditional South American medicine by many Amazonian peoples in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and, Venezuela.
