Ayahuasca in Cuyabeno?

Ayahuasca in Cuyabeno?

Ayahuasca in Cuyabeno?

The consumption of ayahuasca generates hallucinogenic effects due to the presence of natural DMT from plants such as Psychotria viridis, Diplopterys cabrerana and others. Its effect on the cerebral cortex is especially serious, which can cause a psychotic picture whose duration varies, being able to be acute, or longer lasting and in some cases, be irreversible.

What is ayahuasca?

Ayahuasca is a traditional medicine used by the shamans of the Amazon since ancient times.

This respected and ancestral drink is part of the Amazonian worldview and culture, so it is important to know that it is much more than a recreational drug. Although it causes hallucinations, Amazonian communities have learned and survived for many years with this ancient knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation. It is about knowing the importance of the spiritual, emotional and intangible environment with the material and palpable world through visions.

According to the wise men of the community, this drink helps to cleanse and reorganize the mind and body, accept things that can not change and take care of the emotions, for which prior preparation is very important together with the community shaman who is the appropriate person to guide and advise during this activity. Being one of the most requested drinks in the indigenous communities of South America, you should avoid consuming it on your own without the supervision of a shaman.

This is a service that is not on the Green Forest Ecolodge itinerary, however, you can do it outside of the agency's activities.

This substance must be administered with a deep understanding and it is not suitable for everyone. It can cause severe (even irreversible) psychotic symptoms in people with a history of mental problems, such as schizophrenia or bipolarity, and is incompatible with taking medications such as antidepressants. There are even those who have died, it seems, because of these bad practices, since it has not been determined that ayahuasca has dangerous levels of toxicity for the human body.

Ayahuasca or yage is an indigenous drink used in traditional South American medicine by many Amazonian peoples in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and, Venezuela.
